We just spent 8+ hours roundtrip in the car driving down I-5 on our way to "the dirty south" (aka Medford) as we like to call it.  Wait....let me back up about 9 months ago, Brandon and I saw an old camper trailer on a leisure bike ride to our local coffee shop.  It was only 1500 but needed some work done, in all it was in good shape for its age and one of those things we kick ourselves for not looking into further.  As it goes, this pretty much starts it...Brandon wants to buy an old trailer (preferably fixed up).  At first I thought he was crazy, but then...I'll admit he got me thinking.  So every once in awhile I jump on craigslist and search.  To no avail, this isn't something we would spend money on right now, but always in the back of our minds.

So fast forward to our weekend down to "the dirty".  There were campers, RV's and travel trailers galore on I-5.  We saw all shapes and sizes and we saw, what we felt like, a ton of Airstreams.  Anytime we see one we tend to react like this "ohhhhhhh an airstream" and then I think we dream a little in our mids.  Well we pulled along side a very cute airstream, I looked for a name and it was BAMBI! Hellooooo gorgeous.  Thanks to the handy iphone I got online to research..hehhehmmm fall more in love with.

I mean really, who wouldn't want her?  As much as I want to add her to my 40 before 40 list...I think I'll save it for the 50 before 50 list.  Its just a bit more realistic and my desire for a boat is just a bit stronger.

Sewing slacker!

I've been a complete slacker lately with my sewing...it makes me sad, afterall wasn't this blog supposed to be about that?!  Well I have a great excuse....I'm freakin' exhausted!

10.5 weeks

Not as great of a picture at 10.5 weeks but the doc was only looking for a heart beat, rather than a stellar picture our of lil' bean. 

All of this hasn't been without concern, of course not, we're talking about pregnancies with B and I folks!  But all seems good now, so we'll keep thinking positive.  Ohh and if your curious about the extra looking sack in the first picture....its one of two things a subchorionic bleed or a twin that didn't develop.  For various reasons my doc and I are thinking its the later reason, but I couldn't help but laugh when he said that!

As far as these cute aprons I'm supposed to be working on, one is part way done, but I'm too tired at night to finish it.  Think I'll offer her payment for her services instead of the trade....booo.

Real Quick...

Just wanted to pop in to pass along a great (and easy) lasagna recipe.  I actually have never made lasagna before and when we had a few friends over for dinner Sunday, I thought "no time like the present"....and lets face it, this isn't something I would have time to make (or a desire to) during the week. 

I started my search for the perfect recipe by Googling Giada lasagna recipe.  I didn't get much but came across this blog: My Lasagna Recipe Blog and specifically this post.

I put it into action and was surprised at how easy it was!  I did simmer for 1.5 hours, made the sauce very tasty.  I think one of my favorite parts besides the easy sauce is that it doesn't require you to cook the noodles!

Ohhh and I think I may have found my favorite Lasagna in town...Piazza Italia.  I hadn't been in a few years and we went a few Fridays ago before seeing Kooza.  The lasagna was to die for, I think their secret weapon is Bechemel sauce...Mmmmm

Where's the sewing projects?  I'll explain tomorrow....

So not like me

I'm not one to bake or to keep sweets in the house.  If I do, I eat them and my waist line has told me it doesn't like that very much.

Last Sunday I was trying to plan this weeks menu and visited Sunset.com to see if they had any good ideas.  I came across this recipe and thought, what the heck...I don't do this very often.  So glad I did!

You know me, if its fast/easy and good...well I'm in.  And now that I think of it, thats pretty much how I like most things.... meetings at work, sewing patterns, recipes, etc.

** Can I just throw in another side comment...I used to HATE strawberries! WTH?! ** Weird.

This recipe makes a full 9x13, might want to half it if you don't want to eat sweets all week...or just throw caution to the wind like I did and go for it.

Where are those darling Aprons I mentioned??....UGH! This weekend, I promise.  Work has consumed me this week, working after D goes to bed is never very fun.

She never lets me down....

Giada De Laurentiis that is.  I tried this soup tonight, while I wasn't a big fan of the creme fraiche topping, the soup itself is delicious and easy.  If you give it a try, let me know what you think of the topping.

B and I have a big aversion to Rosemary.  One night when we were first together I made a weight watchers recipe for some rosemary bread...I must have messed up on the measurements of the Rosemary because it was serious overload.  Disgusting really.  Needless to say we both can't really stomach rosemary anymore.

PS

Palm Springs was fabulous, just what the doctor ordered.  Its been a busy few months, mainly travel between B and I for work and a quick trip to Reno to see the in-laws new pad.  Finally we ended the craziness with a relaxed family vacation to sun and heat!

We vacationed with my parents, and since its been awhile since I vacationed with them I was a bit nervous that I'd be pulling my hair out by the end..but I was proved wrong (love it when that happens).  The trip was in two words.. FUN and RELAXING.

We pretty much slept in and then slowly got ready, next stop...pool.  I guess next time we really just need to go anywhere with a fun pool because we didn't see much of PS.

Poor guy got a heat rash the second day, but that didn't stop him.

Our "villa" as they are called was right on the 18th hole so when my dad and B were coming around they picked up Davis.  He was soo excited!  Love this picture of them three.  My dad is a pretty serious guy, so its fun to hang out with him while vacationing, sooo mellow and relaxed.

Below are some of my faves, they played music all day by the pool.  One night after dinner we decided to go back swimming before D's bedtime.  We were the only ones there and he was digging the music...did a little dance for us.

Its so funny how long we anticipate and look forward to vacation and how fast it zips by.  Guess its time to plan another :)

P.S... visiting PS is the first thing I can check off my 40 Before 40 list! 

Back in time and a recipe

This post is coming to you from sunny, warm Palm Springs.  Its the perfect place to soak in the sun, swim in the pool and catch up on blogs...which its almost been a month.  Record time for me.  Life has been keeping me busy, while I'd love to say I think it will slow down, that would be a lie...summer is coming.  Life never slows down in the summer.

Easter has come and gone, but this was the first year Davis really was able to get into it.  I guess I'm a bad mom, but the EB didn't bring candy.  Instead it brough a Harmonica, Kladescope (sp), books and a few other fun things.

All D's cousins

Had supper club in March at our house.  Was fun to pull out the initialed cloth napkins and set the table nicely, we've decided to do this monthly and I swear this group is too fun.  We laughed all night!

Here is a very tasty and easy recipe to serve for a large crowd.  Don't look past the Arugula, it really ties it all in together!  We paired it with butternut squash soup and salad.
