Shazzam!

I bit the bullet! Yes, I bought a new camera....kind of a bold move on my part. You see, I tend to play the low investment card on big purchases. First I have to research, figure out if its really what I want to buy, compare my options (travel, camera, LV purse, etc). But, I figured if/when we do travel we will want a great camera, and there is plenty of more years ahead for a bigger LV purse (which last forever so they are still a good investment :). Anyway, I started looking again on line (I've been thinking about purchasing this camera since before Davis was born) and then we went to Ritz camera, funny thing...they were having a big discount on their D40 Kit. Of course this happens on the day I go in there, then good ol' DH says..."just buy it"! I listened for this once (j/k...well kind of) and bought it. Here are a few pics to enjoy.

He likes to grab whatever is in front of him or his hand and act like its a telephone, he answers and says HA, which is Hi in his language.

Cool guy with his collar popped

So as you can see, this really wasn't about sitting still, but I went to bed at 7:15pm last night, does that count?

Hot Stuff!

So this post isn't really about sitting still, but soon I will be as I make some yummy creations! I have to share some hot new fabric I bought today! I could have gone nuts in the fabric store, but I have to reel it in a little. My signature thing for my projects is to add a button of some kind. So I bought some cutie buttons as well.
(yes that fabric looks like wood teehehehhehe)

BTW, after looking at these pics, I'm leaning towards the new camera with some of my bonus money!

Wine and Whine!

I haven't been on my blog in awhile because I haven't had a chance to sit still. DH (dear husband for all you non-bloggers) was out of town last Thursday-Sunday on a boys golf get-a-way! A few years ago I may have been envious of him, but lets face it they probably sat around talked sports and made fun of each other...not so fun. So I was on mommy duty all weekend with my lil' Monkey! He is alot of fun and I love him to death...BUT he is very active. And just became active within the last few weeks, especially this past weekend.

So whats an exhausted girl to do? I settled on drinking Rose and Riesling by the fire with some girlfriends! Ohh gosh, as I'm typing this I realize the last few posts have been about drinking! CLASSIC! I promise I'll get more involved in my sewing soon!

We burned the midnight oil until 1:30am! Nice work ladies! Ohh and I highly recommend the Java Log! It is compressed coffee beans, and burns great! Check out our fire (nice work Amy).

FUN TIMES!

I might dream of Poire tonight!

Ahhh the perfect way to end a perfect weekend.....fabulous drinks with fabulous people! I met a few new friends out at a great restaurant fenouil. I had the most amazing drink, you must go try it. It is called the Poire...ingredients include vodka, belle de brillet (I didn't know what that was either), pear juice, and a lemon ginger cloud.
I'm thinking with this blog stuff that I should carry my camera around with me at all times. I know you would love to see what a lemon ginger cloud looks like! The thought of my bonus coming soon makes me think quite a few scenarios:
1. Save the money for back up (rational part of me)
2. Tuck it away for a vacation for our anniversary (adventurer part of me, is that a word?)
3. Buy a great camera and awesome Cole Haan bag and carry it everywhere I go :) (The I LOVE TO SHOP side of me)
I'll keep you posted on the outcome. Usually the rational side of me wins.
Forgot to mention, I sat...and still for that matter, for a few hours :)

Sitting On a Bike For 2+ Hours!

Livestrong! What a fabulous organization....but to the meat of this post. My good friend Amy is very good at convincing me to do many things, how she has this power over me I'll never know. She called me Wednesday, the week of the Livestrong Challenge here in Portland and says "well my mom is going to pay the fundraising minimum if you want to ride the 40miles with me" (Thanks Amy's mom by the way)....yeah right! I first thought....I haven't been on my bike since my sister and I rode 100 miles 2 years ago...WRONG make that 3 years ago!

So after some discussion with Amy and Brandon, I decided what the heck. To prep, I had a massage and Brandon and I rode around the block the night before....and guess what, it was awesome! The weather was beautiful, the people were fun and we kicked A**! I'm so proud of us and this by far was one of the most fun events we have done together.

So there you have it, I sat....not still but I sat for over 2+ hours.

Gotta Do It!

No, not Just Do It.... So here I am wondering when in the heck I'm going to have time for a Blog, but I'm determined to be up to date on all this techy stuff....so here I go.

My blog is named Sit Still for many reasons. 1. I can't do that hardly ever, even before having Davis. 2. I think I need to find time to sit, maybe not still, but sit. 3. And if I actually write about it...won't that force me to do it?!

So check back maybe every week or two :) and see whats going on when we finally get the chance to sit still. I can't guarantee that I/we will be sitting still, but if we get close I'm happy!
