My super hero
I finally had a few hours on Sunday to finish Davis's super hero cape. I had made the wrist bands and eye mask a few months ago...shows you how long it takes me to accomplish projects these days.

Its been awhile..
since I've blogged....been a little busy. I just spent a week in Hilton Head, South Carolina. It was a cute little island, sorta strange in some ways but fun to be somewhere new. Needless to say my sewing has taken a hit and I haven't gotten my groove back since I returned. We have too many 1/2 finished projects that I feel I need to tie up before hitting the sewing machine.
I finished the dinning room and hung the black S back in the corner. It looks great, and Brandon likes it. Score! Now I'm just trying to finish accessorizing the front room with a few updates. Its been the same for the last 4.5 years.
Next up was the front yard. When we first moved in the house looked like this, mind you this was November a completely different time of year than the pics below...Love all the leaves.
Then it went to this after we painted and got the yard ready for the new plants...
And now its here....I am looking for a tall/slender bright colored pot for the front porch if anyone see's one, let me know.
This past weekend we went to Toys R Us to buy a bike for Davis. We thought he'd want a bike with training wheels but he kept gravitating towards the trikes. So we settled on this and got a smoking deal off Craigs list. He loves it and he is able to get out some of his energy.
I tried a few great recipes the last few days, thought I'd pass them along.

Happy Birthday!
March is FULL of birthdays! Happy Birthday to all you folks out there!
My ever so stylish friend Erica had made her own cloth napkins. They were so cute when she had us girls over for dinner that when my sister and SIL's birthdays were coming I wanted to make them some. Little did I know that these babies actually take longer than they look. They require folding each edge twice. However, you can't get more sustainable than this, and of course they are a great way to dress up a table. They came out to be about 16x16 and look nice in a trifold.

My sisters set
I have made about have of my SIL's but am now second guessing my fabric choice. Might have to start over. I also just started this, I've been wanting to make this for quite sometime. Can't wait to post pics when I finish.
I came across this awesome blog this past weekend, I pretty much think of making Davis's big boy bed daily and whether I should tackle this project or not. I was reminded tonight that the stress of it might not be worth the money I'd save by not ordering the Pottery Barn one. We'll see, sometimes once I get an idea I can't get rid of it. Guess we'll let Brandon decide.
Speaking of, B gets home from China tomorrow morning (wonder what he'll think of the paint color). Saying I can't wait is an understatement. I always say this and sometime I'll get my act together to appreciate it 100X's more than I already do, but I never realize how much he helps until he is gone. Kuddos to single parents out there, its not easy. Davis and I did enjoy some dinner dates to the Grilled Cheese Bus and Bella Faccia. We tried to run a few errands but that didn't last long and then on Sunday I tried to teach him how to be quiet...yes I said how to be quiet. I just needed maybe 2 minutes of silence as we were out driving around. He didn't get the concept and after explaining it to him for the 5th time he was quiet, ohh for about 1 minute till he started singing "row, row, row your boat." It was so cute that I couldn't possibly ask him for quiet time anymore. Did I mention his new favorite word is WHY....awesome!
With that, I'll leave you Mr. Personality trying on Mom's shoes.

Peek
Its not done and I normally would wait until it was just right to show you, but I figured I should break out of my shell and show it anyway. I'm warming up to the color but was pretty freaked out as I was painting it last night.
You should know that most walls on the main level are brown, a few shades of brown, but brown. So adding color is a big deal to me. I'm tired of seeing brown all over from the floor to the walls and everything in between so I decided to spice things up a bit. Can't tell if this should be a bit darker and gray, but I'll go with it for awhile until I can figure that out.
I have a black S for the Left back wall there by the door, not sure if I should put it back or if I should find something else. Any ideas?
Do I go darker?
I'll leave you with this sweet message I found on my doorstep this morning. I must have walked right past it last night when we got home. B left it for us before he left yesterday to China.
