New Eye Candy

Since I started using Google Reader awhile back, I haven't been that great about keeping my Eye Candy section updated.  I have added a few new blogs to my reader, one in particular that I'm enjoying is Swanky Tables.  Come to find out she is in Portland...holla!

I'll take you on a little journey of what I love about this blog

Fun cocktail recipes and ideas

Cuteness!

Who woulda thought to use candy necklaces as decorations?

OMG!- Lemon Merinque cupcakes!

Party ideas, no mom could ever not have enough of these.  This one is Under the Big Top! Look at the cute bags of popcorn!  Ohh and the cake is a merry go round.

Baseball birthday party! This would fit Davis perfectly...he is obsessed about baseball at the moment.  His first words to me yesterday morning when I got him up was "hey momma want to go hit some balls?"! Love it!  Notice the jars of candy and the cute printed bags for the kids to take home?  I think thats a great alternative to goody bags.  I also love the bags of peanuts (again).

Cute girls birthday party idea! Love the jar of cookie mix!

Fun huh!

This weather is the pits! I'm feeling the need for some sun and warmth.  I feel like when it is sunny and warm we try to cram everything in as quickly as we can not knowing if its going to stay or go back to gloom....sad.

I'm thinking a few randoms..
1.  B is in China, thats freakin far, how am I going to do this with 2 kids?!
2.  I'm much more whimpier this time around.  I find myself going to bed at 8:30 and am still exhausted the next day.  Not to mention...I'm not cute right now folks! I have large dark circles under my eyes and for some reason my hair is hideous.
3.  That poor little boy who is missing...seriously can you even imagine the heartache?!
4.  Thinking its time to plan another trip away, this time just B and I before the baby comes.  Last time before we had Davis we went to Hawaii, B doesn't have that much time and we already went to Hawaii this year so I'm thinking SF, NY or ?? Got any good ideas?  NY is winning the race at the moment.
5.  I should be sewing right now.

Picky Pleaser

I thought I'd pass on a stellar recipe.  I don't need to tell you that its easy, because afterall, thats my mantra.

My SIL shared this with me because...well...I have a picky eater on my hands.  So any way I can sneak some fruit or veggies into a meal secretly I'm all about it.

Pumpkin Muffins

Here is the ingredients:
-  One box of white cake mix
- One can of puréed pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)

Mix the two together and bake at 350 until baked through and toothpick comes out clean.  I make them in mini muffins.  Perfect size for little hands and there is always enough to share with friends.

Now, I realize a cake mix may not be the healthiest, but lets face it the benefits of pumpkin outweigh it.

Now...get busy and make some muffins.

What color are you?

I came across this on Inkspot Workshop, listed in my eye candy section.   Its pretty fun.  Visit here to play, but pop back over and tell me what color you are.

I like all of these, but fuschia and papaya are catching my eye.

Bambi...

I want you!

We just spent 8+ hours roundtrip in the car driving down I-5 on our way to "the dirty south" (aka Medford) as we like to call it.  Wait....let me back up about 9 months ago, Brandon and I saw an old camper trailer on a leisure bike ride to our local coffee shop.  It was only 1500 but needed some work done, in all it was in good shape for its age and one of those things we kick ourselves for not looking into further.  As it goes, this pretty much starts it...Brandon wants to buy an old trailer (preferably fixed up).  At first I thought he was crazy, but then...I'll admit he got me thinking.  So every once in awhile I jump on craigslist and search.  To no avail, this isn't something we would spend money on right now, but always in the back of our minds.

So fast forward to our weekend down to "the dirty".  There were campers, RV's and travel trailers galore on I-5.  We saw all shapes and sizes and we saw, what we felt like, a ton of Airstreams.  Anytime we see one we tend to react like this "ohhhhhhh an airstream" and then I think we dream a little in our mids.  Well we pulled along side a very cute airstream, I looked for a name and it was BAMBI! Hellooooo gorgeous.  Thanks to the handy iphone I got online to research..hehhehmmm fall more in love with.

This is her

Inside

{can't remember where I found these pics}
I mean really, who wouldn't want her?  As much as I want to add her to my 40 before 40 list...I think I'll save it for the 50 before 50 list.  Its just a bit more realistic and my desire for a boat is just a bit stronger.

Wouldn't we be so cute in Bambi?!

Sewing slacker!

I've been a complete slacker lately with my sewing...it makes me sad, afterall wasn't this blog supposed to be about that?!  Well I have a great excuse....I'm freakin' exhausted!

8.5 weeks
10.5 weeks

Not as great of a picture at 10.5 weeks but the doc was only looking for a heart beat, rather than a stellar picture our of lil' bean.

All of this hasn't been without concern, of course not, we're talking about pregnancies with B and I folks!  But all seems good now, so we'll keep thinking positive.  Ohh and if your curious about the extra looking sack in the first picture....its one of two things a subchorionic bleed or a twin that didn't develop.  For various reasons my doc and I are thinking its the later reason, but I couldn't help but laugh when he said that!

As far as these cute aprons I'm supposed to be working on, one is part way done, but I'm too tired at night to finish it.  Think I'll offer her payment for her services instead of the trade....booo.

Real Quick...

Just wanted to pop in to pass along a great (and easy) lasagna recipe.  I actually have never made lasagna before and when we had a few friends over for dinner Sunday, I thought "no time like the present"....and lets face it, this isn't something I would have time to make (or a desire to) during the week.

I started my search for the perfect recipe by Googling Giada lasagna recipe.  I didn't get much but came across this blog: My Lasagna Recipe Blog and specifically this post.

I put it into action and was surprised at how easy it was!  I did simmer for 1.5 hours, made the sauce very tasty.  I think one of my favorite parts besides the easy sauce is that it doesn't require you to cook the noodles!

{lasagna blog}

Ohhh and I think I may have found my favorite Lasagna in town...Piazza Italia.  I hadn't been in a few years and we went a few Fridays ago before seeing Kooza.  The lasagna was to die for, I think their secret weapon is Bechemel sauce...Mmmmm

Where's the sewing projects?  I'll explain tomorrow....

Got a favorite lasagna recipe or lasagna in town?  Do share!  Off to clean the house for the cleaning lady :)

So not like me

I'm not one to bake or to keep sweets in the house.  If I do, I eat them and my waist line has told me it doesn't like that very much.

Last Sunday I was trying to plan this weeks menu and visited Sunset.com to see if they had any good ideas.  I came across this recipe and thought, what the heck...I don't do this very often.  So glad I did!

You know me, if its fast/easy and good...well I'm in.  And now that I think of it, thats pretty much how I like most things.... meetings at work, sewing patterns, recipes, etc.

** Can I just throw in another side comment...I used to HATE strawberries! WTH?! ** Weird.

This recipe makes a full 9x13, might want to half it if you don't want to eat sweets all week...or just throw caution to the wind like I did and go for it.

 {Sunset}

Where are those darling Aprons I mentioned??....UGH! This weekend, I promise.  Work has consumed me this week, working after D goes to bed is never very fun.
